Project Description
This exterior wood staining project covered three separate structures on a residential property in Argyle, TX. The work included pressure washing and staining the barn, pool cabana, and main house to restore the look of the wood surfaces.
After cleaning, an oil based stain was applied to protect the wood and bring back a richer tone. Along with the staining, all exterior trim on the main house was painted using Sherwin-Williams Superpaint to give the property a clean and finished look.
The exterior painting project took nine days to complete. By handling all buildings at once, the entire property now feels consistent and well maintained.
Background Story:
The homeowner wanted to bring new life to multiple structures on the property. Over time, exposure to sun and weather had faded the wood surfaces, and the buildings no longer matched in appearance.
Highland Painting worked with the homeowner to create a plan that focused on both preparation and finish. Pressure washing was the first step to remove buildup and prepare the surfaces for staining.
Since the property included a barn, cabana, and main home, the goal was to make everything look connected again. Staining the wood and painting the trim helped tie the buildings together without changing their original style.
Scope of Services:
- Exterior Wood Staining: All wood surfaces across the barn, pool cabana, and main house were stained to restore color and protect the material.
- Pressure Washing Preparation: Each structure was pressure washed before staining to clean the surface and help the stain absorb properly.
- Trim Painting: Exterior trim on the main house was painted to provide contrast and a clean finish around the structure.
- Multi-Structure Project Coordination: Work was completed across three buildings to create a consistent look throughout the entire property.
Paint Products Used:
- Sherwin-Williams Superdeck oil-based stain
- Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint for trim
Project Cost:
Approximately $17,000 for staining and painting across all three structures.
Results:
After nine days, the property had a refreshed and more uniform appearance. The stained wood surfaces brought back depth and color, while the painted trim added a clean outline to the main house.
Each structure now complements the others, making the property feel more put together. This exterior wood staining project shows how proper prep and staining can improve both appearance and durability.
When you have multiple buildings on one property, keeping them looking consistent can be a challenge. A full exterior wood staining project can bring everything back together and protect your investment.
Let Highland Painting handle the prep, staining, and finishing so your property looks clean and well cared for again.
