Project Description
This brick painting project in Lewisville, TX, focused on updating the entire exterior while addressing areas of wood damage at the same time.
We applied Romabio Lime Slurry in Tapestry Beige to the brick, giving the home a softer, more natural look compared to traditional paint. The trim and doors were finished using Benjamin Moore Ben in Brandon Beige to keep everything balanced and clean.
Along with the painting, sections of rotted wood were replaced before any coatings were applied. The full exterior painting and repair work was completed in four days, leaving a smooth and consistent finish across the home.
Background / Story:
The homeowner reached out after noticing a mix of fading brick and wood damage around the exterior. Instead of handling repairs and painting as separate projects, they wanted everything done at once so the home would look complete when finished. The brick color felt dated, and the damaged wood areas stood out even more because of it.
During the walkthrough, we talked through different options for the brick. A lime slurry finish stood out because it allows some of the natural texture to show through instead of covering it completely. That helped the home keep its character while still feeling updated. Once the plan was set, the focus was on moving quickly while keeping the work clean and organized.
Scope of Services:
- Brick painting using lime slurry finish
- Full exterior painting of trim and doors
- Replacement of rotted wood areas
- Surface preparation prior to all coatings
- Clean and even application across all exterior surfaces
Paints / Products Used:
- Romabio Lime Slurry – Tapestry Beige (brick)
- Benjamin Moore Ben – Brandon Beige (trim and doors)
Project Cost:
The total cost for this brick painting and exterior update project was approximately $12,000, depending on the amount of wood replacement and prep work required.
Results:
The home now has a more updated and balanced look from the street. The lime slurry finish softened the brick and added depth, while the new trim color helped frame the home without overpowering it. The wood repairs also cleaned up areas that previously stood out for the wrong reasons. Everything now works together, giving the home a more complete and finished appearance.
If your brick feels outdated or you’re starting to notice wood damage around your home, it’s often better to handle both at the same time.
